Better Business Bureau of Southwest Missouri has learned scammers have found a new way to rip off online shoppers. A consumer called our office telling us he responded to a Craigslist Ad for a competitively-priced generator. He received an email back telling him he could purchase the generator at www.surplusoutletcenter.com. The website was a professional looking one, complete with the BBB Accredited Business logo and the claim that they have an A+ with our office. Not only is this company not BBB Accredited, but we have absolutely no information on it at all.

Better Business Bureau is issuing a consumer alert for anyone interesting in donating to the Missouri State Troopers Association.
Consumers have reported to BBB that they have recently received calls from Daycom in Bolivar, MO, collecting donations on behalf of the Missouri State Troopers Association (MOSTA). While MOSTA confirms these calls are legitimate, BBB has learned that only 25% of the amount collected from Daycom actually goes to MOSTA.
