BBB Receives Community Relations Award

(Springfield, MO – November 19, 2012) Better Business Bureau serving Southwest Missouri has been awarded the Community Relations award from the Southwest Missouri chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) during its annual An Evening of Stars banquet. The event was held November 15 at Wellington South in Springfield.

The Community Relations award recognizes an organization’s programs that aim to improve relations with or seeks to win the support or cooperation of, people or organizations in communities in which the sponsoring organization has an interest, need or opportunity. BBB won the award for their semi-annual BBB Secure Your ID Day events.

“Receiving this award solidifies the fact that what we do matters in the community,” said Judy Mills, president and CEO of BBB of Southwest Missouri. “We are excited to continue our efforts with events for both businesses and consumers.”

BBB received an award in 2011 from its national office, Council of Better Business Bureau for its BBB Car Care for Women event which educated women in Southwest Missouri how to do routine maintenance to their vehicles in case of an emergency.
